Welcome to Bonita Taqueria y Rotisserie

Tucked away in San Francisco, Bonita Taqueria y Rotisserie offers a vibrant and loud ambiance with tasty Mexican dishes. The half chicken is a standout, with juicy meat and superb seasoning. The sopa de tortilla is excellently flavorful, although a smaller size option would be appreciated. The service is outstanding, with bilingual staff providing quick and efficient service. The food portions are generous and well-prepared, with delicious beans and well-seasoned rice. While the store-bought tortillas are a minor drawback, the chicken tacos are juicy and flavorful. Overall, Bonita Taqueria y Rotisserie is a must-visit spot for delicious Mexican food in San Francisco.

This place is muy muy Bonita!! I got a half chicken and it was one of the best rotisserie chickens I've eaten. The chicken quality was on point and the seasoning was superb. On top of delicious food, the service was outstanding. I will definitely be back every time I am in this neighborhood. Muchas gracias!!!

Sopa de tortilla is excellent however the bowl m. unless shared by two, is too large. I suggest offering cup size as a starter. I had mine with side of soft tortillas and refried black beans with cítoja cheese on top. Salsas are very fresh and variety. Add roasted jalapeños.

Ambiance: very loud and vibrant it's just as loud as a bar so don't expect a quiet environment. Still pretty good and it's clean. I would say this is a family friendly restaurant but there are a few bars in front so keep that in mind. Didn't bother me but just in case. Location: I love Polk St I think it's a safe walk and clean (well SF clean). Service: good service, the staff actually spoke Spanish (unlike a certain Mexican restaurant on Polk with a pirate flag). They did take like 5 mins to take our order since they were busy but after taking it they were very quick. Food: the food was very good and the portions were well served. I got the chicken taco combo. - beans: no lard ! Olive oil and they were not greasy perfectly seasoned and great taste. They used black beans not pinto but they were still delicious. - rice: interesting rice, very well seasoned and it's good but nothing like a traditional Mexican rice. It feels very fast food but, it was good so no complaints. - tortillas: probably the biggest fail since they are store bought not hand made. They could use nixtamal based instead of white corn and it would be great if they were handmade but they did the job and held the taco well. - tacos: the chicken was like tinga and it was well seasoned, juicy, and tender. They could have put more cilantro and onion or at least include it in the self service salsa bar. But it was still good. The self serve salsa bar had green salsa (mild, good taste), chipotle (medium, good for the nachos), habanero (spicy, good for the tacos), and chiles and verdura en vinagre. - chips: I hate salty and thicker chips so I really enjoyed theirs were thin and plain. Over a pretty good I recommend it !

After being away from the Bay Area/ great Mexican food I am happy this was my first stop after getting off the plane. The service was great and she had good recommendations. The horchata was a 10/10 for flavor and amount you get. They had a few different salsas either the perfect amount of heat. It was really cute inside with the mural and sign. I would recommend this place and totally want tot ey other things off the menu.

We recently tried Bonita Taqueria and ordered the NorCal burrito with rotisserie chicken along with a side of chips for takeout. The burrito pleasantly surprised me with its generous portion, packed with flavorful chicken, guac, and beans. Positives: The chicken was exceptionally tasty, making me consider getting a whole or half chicken for a quick dinner during busy workdays. The chicken was really well-spiced, juicy, and saucy. The burritos were sizable enough to share, especially when paired with chips and guac. Additionally, all three salsas provided were delicious, especially the tomatillo + habanero salsas mixed together. Negatives: Unfortunately, we found a nickel-sized bone in our burrito, and a large piece of gristle. Moreover, the potatoes lacked crunch, resulting in a somewhat mushy texture throughout the burrito, which likely wasn't intended. We'll opt for the regular burrito with rice next time. Despite these setbacks, I'm eager to return and sample other meats, perhaps in their tacos, and will definitely come back to grab a rotisserie chicken meal for dinner.

I used their website to order in advance from my iPhone while boo was driving us into the city the other night. Ordering was easy with lots of options for adding or deleting ingredients. This is key for me because I don't need rice as a filler my burritos. I'm from Southern California and just want to taste the real flavors. My boo ordered the Bonita Bowl, which she enjoyed. A good value at $16.80 because she could make two meals of it. I was surprised at how good my Bonita Burrito was. A perfectly crisped soft tortilla filled with quality ingredients. Carne Asada in this city runs the gamut. So when you have large chunks of tender beef, it really stands out. I couldn't complain about paying S15.75 for it. But I can't drop five stars because the flavors didn't truly excel. There's nothing like the flavors you find at a real deal Mexican restaurant whether it's in Alta or Baja California. I would definitely return on the right occasion. The interior is clean, and a bit sterile. Nothing to write home about. There's a decent amount of seating though. Bonus points for having a decent selection of beers. The business model is clearly as much about takeout and delivery orders as in store dining. They do a great job. Four stars is really the maximum you could get with this built to be a chain or franchise design. *I guessed that the restaurant was named after the street as the location is at the corner of Bonita and Polk Streets. But the owner of let me know that that wasn't true and that this was their third location. Appreciate the response on Yelp!

Bonita never misses! This place could seriously be my favorite Mexican place in the city. Large portions, delicious food, and fantastic value. We usually get the machos nachos and some tacos with a mix of Pastocito, Carne Asada, and Chicken. All meats are very, very good. Staff is very friendly and kind! Vibes inside are great and the restaurant is in the heart of the Marina on Chestnut. There was a time when my wife and I would come here almost every other week...

Really delicious burrito - got the carne asada. It was flavorful and the beef was tender. I was pleasantly surprised for take out that I was given chips and three small salsa containers to accompany my burrito! Only thing of improvement was the toppings were not well distributed inside so not a ton of beef when I started eating it and was better amount towards the end of my burrito. Burrito held together well though and didn't get soggy. Staff was friendly and the interior was bright and colorful. Would be a great spot to dine with people.

Good food, a bit on the pricey side. Didn't disappoint though. Such a cute restaurant as well, nice murals and colorful. Friendly service. I'd come back again and recommend for nicer Mexican food!
